COMMUNITY OF MINDFUL
LIVING
The Community of Mindful Living (CML) supports the practice and teachings of
mindfulness and mindful living offered by Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat
Hanh. To be mindful means to dwell deeply in the present moment, to be aware
of what is going on within and around us. Practicing mindfulness cultivates
understanding, love, compassion, and joy. This practice helps us to take
care of and transform suffering in our lives and in our society. Established
in Berkeley, CA in 1983 and incorporated in 1990 in California as a
nonprofit religious organization (Church), CML legally became the "Doing
Business As" (DBA) arm of the Unified Buddhist Church in December '99.
